Wow. There is so much going on internally and externally with SoFA right now. Thank you to all who attended and supported “The Interrelated” – our annual conference (and 7th birthday party)! Events such as this are at the core of our mission and service in the world.
I love the concept of tipping points from Malcolm Gladwell–those moments when enough people adopt a belief or practice where it becomes “the norm.” David Holmgren, co-originator of permaculture design, suggested to the International Permaculture Convergence that if 4% of the population adopted permaculture, it would be enough to tip global society in that direction.
I wonder: what would that look like for sociocracy and SoFA? What would it look like for 4% of nonprofits in a region to use sociocracy? Or 4% of municipal departments? Or workplaces?
With the changes we are envisioning in the Network Model, I believe we are getting closer to being able to ask these questions and find the practical steps to make them reality. In the next few days, look for a special announcement about how you can dream and act with us. (I’m so excited!)

💡 Sociocratic Tips
Let’s decide with our heart.
This presentation takes a look at how the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) can enhance a sociocractic setting with young children and it’s an exploration of three systems for staying connected through all kinds of conflict in both the family and the classroom.

Mega Electoral Year
This Sunday, Mexico will hold its presidential election, marking a significant event in what is being called a Mega Election Year, with over 60 countries worldwide conducting elections.
Personally, I will not be voting this weekend due to the complex political landscape in Mexico. More importantly, I advocate for alternative forms of organization and a broader perspective on politics that extends beyond the state-centric model.
It’s evident that the democratic system is facing a crisis. In this context, what role does sociocracy play? Are there any examples of local governments successfully implementing sociocratic principles? What other non-electoral models exist?Share your thoughts in the forum!
