Hello lovely people! 

Welcome to 2024! I hope the new year has found you well and excited about how you contribute to the world. I am happily reconnecting with SoFA’s circles and taking up our common work after a brief holiday. The kindness and generosity of our members–our vision of a better world and the capacity to create it through innovating together–always impresses me.  

Here are a few things which we anticipate in 2024: 

• Clarifying the model SoFA uses to support the growth of sociocracy (and accomplish our mission)
• Adopting a means to improve communication and clarity when asking for help from other parts of SoFA 
• Improving our financial sustainability (through clarifying the model and adjusting our budgeting to match)
• Events both familiar and new throughout the year

2024 Annual Online Sociocracy Conference – Call for Submissions

Explore Sociocracy’s Interconnected World

Join us for our 2024 annual conference, where we delve into the interconnected nature of sociocracy. Share your experiences and insights in three key areas:

1. Implementations: Unveil the interplay between sociocracy, organizations, and individuals. Share stories of transformation, challenges, and real-world impact.
2. Sociocracy and Other Systems: Discuss the integration of sociocracy with other systems like NVC, agile, permaculture, etc. Explore how these systems complement each other.
3. Action Research on Self-Management: If you’re studying self-management, contribute to the interconnection of research and practice. Share insights that bridge the gap between theory and application.

All presentations will be 50 minutes long, offering a diverse and engaging program. We invite your submissions for workshops, presentations, or panel discussions.

✏️ Circle reports

In the upcoming Mission Circle meeting, discussions will focus on future activities. SoItalia is actively preparing for the merger of two circles in March, emphasizing operational projects and training. The International Strategy and Finances circle approved a budget with a $4000 grant for Language Circles. Content Circle, led by Samara and Ted, prioritizes the presentation of the SoFA Essence document and publishing. Outreach Circle, under Pame and Alma, is revamping its strategy for more targeted outreach.

SoFA Support Services, guided by Rhonda and Pame, discusses the nuanced difference between membership services and subscription offerings. In the Ecosystem Circle, Permaculture welcomes new member Anne Sheridan, and Intentional Communities plans two webinars. Education, Co-op Circle, and Nonprofits engage in diverse activities. Activists take a pause, FOSC is setting up a COP, and AtWork got article approval. Ted, in the Partnership Operational Role, engages in miscellaneous conversations.
