C6: organization structure training & evaluation

Teach or train organizational structure.

 

Skill description ability to run an organizational structure training; does not have to be trained alone but can be part of a pair. Student has to be responsible for overall planning
How to acquire skill attend other’s workshops; get feedback on outline; get feedback from participants and use it to improve the session; practice in real life
Show skill Option 1:
Give a minimum 3-4 hour workshop for at least 6 people which includes both presentation and participant practice in design. Show and tell the training design and your evaluation; take in feedback; follow up.Option 2:
For 4 organizations from 3 different sectors that have at least 5 circles, analyzing their circle structures with informants that organization and providing an improvement plan.
Measurement Peer group (ALC) assesses the performance review based on the checklists below.

  • Performance reviews within Peer group (ALC): evaluate performance review in circle. 
  • Performance reviews outside of Peer group (ALC): solicit written feedback from two people – the person reviewed and a participant of the review –  in that circle.
Checklist Option 1

Self:

  • How did you structure the workshop?
  • How was your time management?
  • Did you use different channels and learning mediums?
  • Was your style (examples, wording etc.)  appropriate to the context?
  • Did you ask for feedback, and what did you learn?
  • Did you follow up with people? 

Other (2 people):

  • Was the presentation clear? 
  • How was the time management?
  • Were all questions answered? (considering time)
  • Did the trainer seem competent and engaging?
  • Were you supported appropriately in the design workt?
  • What would you ask to do differently next time?

Option 2:

  • Describe each organization.
  • What was hard? 
  • What were your suggestions in the improvement plan?
  • What did you learn?
