Sociocracy as an equalizer in building a community-driven food policy council (Andy Grant & circle)

Bio: Andy Grant is a student in the SoFA academy and serves as the membership guide for SoFA. For nearly a year, he has been engaged as a sociocracy trainer/coach with Healthy Hampshire and the Food Policy Council initiative. Other presenters include Healthy Hampshire team members Caitlin Marquis, Rossana Salazar, and Kristen Whitmore, as well as resident organizers Kia Aoki, Pat Keith, Roslyn Malkin, Lourdes Santiago, and Johanny Valerio.

Description: Reflecting a range of identities — food access professional, community organizer, resident, sociocracy trainer, and interpreter — this group from western Massachusetts (US) will demonstrate its practice of sociocracy. See a reaction round to the prompt, “As we build this food policy council together, how is sociocracy equalizing power?” Q&A will follow. With simultaneous English-Spanish interpretation.
