Implement in a whole town? Tales from Historic Greenbelt (Aileen Kroll & John Buck)

Bio:

  • Aileen Kroll, a lawyer inspired by cooperatives and community engagement, she co-founded Greenbelt-based Center for Dynamic Community Governance (CDCG) in 2015.
  • John Buck, certified sociocracy consultant, co-founded CDCG – an experiment in bringing DCG to a whole town. He co-authored two books: We the People: Consenting to a Deeper Democracy and Company-wide Agility with Beyond Budgeting, Open Space & Sociocracy.

Description: Greenbelt arose in 1937 from Eleanor Rooseveltโ€™s vision of a cooperative, pedestrian-based, affordable town where decisions affecting all would truly be made by all who resided there. John Buck & Aileen Kroll saw Greenbelt as a perfect laboratory for bringing DG (sociocracy) to a whole town. They founded a Center in 2014. Hear about their ongoing journey as they share stories and lessons learned.

The Center for Dynamic Community Governance, located in Greenbelt, Maryland offers virtual and in-person trainings in dynamic community governance/sociocracy across the globe.
