Bio: Jim Lee is a member of the Coordinators Circle of the Peoples Party of Washington State. He introduced the concept of Sociocracy to the organization, which has adopted it as their primary decision-making process. Jim is a lifelong ‘amateur’ political philosopher and has long been involved in public policy work and actions for democracy, economic justice and the environment, several of which he has organized or led.
Description: Sociocracy has been demonstrated to be a highly effective and efficient decision-making process, especially where a group, such as the Peoples Party of Washington State, is mostly committed to a shared goal or purpose. We will also present the process we use to select and prioritize the policy planks in our party platform using a highly democratic, near consensus model that engages all willing party members.
