Sociocracy has many components, and yet children absorb concepts such as consent and selections much more easily than adults. In this workshop, you’ll gain hands-on experience using sociocracy tailored specifically for younger children (ages 5-10.) The workshop will come with an informational workbook designed to take children step by step through sociocratic processes along with an adult, whether you are working in a school group, at home, in a club, or a co-op.
As sociocracy is finding more and more interest in nonprofits, a tricky tension needs to be explored more deeply: how do power relationships change if some people are in paid positions while others are volunteering? How can nonprofits give volunteers a voice while still honoring the effectiveness of the staff team?
