Or perhaps you are considering joining our Academy program in the fall\, but aren’t sure if you’re ready? In this 3-hour session\, we will cover a few of the core elements of sociocracy\, including building a circle structure\, circle roles\, and consent-based decision-making. It will provide those new to sociocracy with a solid foundation. For those considering SoFA’s Academy\, this is a great way to review what you already know\, as well as fill in some potential gaps. \n\n\n\nLevel\n\n\n\nGetting Started. (Never been to a workshop\, watched/read a few things.)  \n\n\n\nTopics\n\n\n\n\nBuilding a circle structure\n\n\n\nCircle roles\n\n\n\nConsent-based decision-making\n\n\n\n\nAll classes include presentation\, practice\, and time for questions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTrainer\n\n\n\nAnne Sheridan\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnne is a trained facilitator and self-identified “process nerd” with over two decades of experience in collaborative decision-making and anti-hierarchical organizing. \n\n\n\nShe enjoys both teaching sociocracy to individuals and helping organizations figure out how sociocracy can address their particular needs. \n\n\n\nAnne also has experience with post-growth economies\, conflict engagement\, and Nonviolent Communication and believes a well-run meeting is one of life’s great joys.   \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMy pronouns are she/her and I live on unceded\, unsurrendered Anishnabēg Algonquin territory in so-called Cantley\, Quebec. I’m a farmer\, bartender and community advocate who learned about sociocracy through an interest in intentional communities.
